Summer Happenings

I have been a bit slack on my blog updates lately. Life has been a spinning top! I have been working so much and trying to have a good time while I do it so as not to burn out. Things have been great though. I recently had the major cold that comes sometimes with the change of seasons into Summer. So I am now over that.. been running a lot and getting back in shape.. I love that! My days and nights seem to have been one thing at times.. but I am taking note of everything that makes me smile and moving on with my World.

Summer in Las Vegas is always an oven-hot, memory-filled mess! haha.. I love that there is so much to do here, but I have to constantly tell myself that I am going to always miss something. So I do the fun stuff when I can, work to make sure I can keep my responsibilities in order..and rest.. a lot! I have been keeping up on my studies for my work life, and trying to find a new place to live. I am just unhappy in this apartment, but it is the kind of situation that is not really the most important thing that I have to deal with. It is mostly the aesthetic and the management that make me want to go somewhere else. I guess the thought of dealing with the sub-par-ness of my living situation for another year is what has me thinking of a move. However, I have a knack for making any space my 'home' and I am surrounded by what I love in this spot.. so I may just stay put.

I recently checked out a few places and actually applied for an apartment, only to be denied because of "a past eviction". I was like.. what!? I have been in this town for 10 years and never been evicted from anywhere. This led me to check my credit.. there was one outstanding blemish which I knew about.. but the eviction is no where on there, which is where I was told it was found. So when I inquired what that was about.. I was told it was from a complex that is now turned into a time-share. They had asked all tenants to move out.. and it turns out they marked it as an eviction! WOW. Talk about shady. They asked me to move out, I found another place to live.. and when I was leaving they said there was a mistake and I could stay another year.. haha. I was like forget it!!! ...I already went thought trouble of new deposits and movers and whatnot. So now I find ot that they marked me as evicted! Assholes! So I am dealing with them now. FUN STUFF huh? I'll get it sorted out and you ill hear about it for sure.

What else? Well, my Ipod Nano 8gb went kaputz... not even sure what that is about. It is one of my main motivational factors when working out.. so I use it every day for just about everything. it i s the soundtrack to my days! I was running one day, and it seems that the body heat I produced made the screen melt. I MELTED MY Ipod's FACE OFF!! It was the strangest thing. I called Apple and they are sending me a replacement, I have the Apple Care warranty.. something I reccomend with mass produced electronics.. especially with luck like mine. It will be easily sorted out. So in the meantime, I decided to use my 30 gb at the gym.. and guess what.. MELTED FACE again! What the heck is going on!? I mean I know I am DEED SEXY and capable of making the heat that melts the hearts of many.. but c'mon! So now that is in for repair. Apple is great about that..as long as it is covered by warranty.. so there you have it. More on that later.

Work has been good. It is definitely becoming Summer. The Convention season is coming to an end, and with that the mass of people that like to dine out. Mandalay Bay has just started showing THE LION KING as their main Show. That has been HUGE for the Hotel and they sold over 1,000,000 tickets before their first show at the start of this past month. So they will be busy. Since we are literally next-door to the show, we get alot of play from the guests that are going to see it. That is helpful during a time when it is starting to slow down.

One of the other things that has kept me smiling and happy is the upcoming season of Top Chef. We filmed a couple of episodes in the restaurant where i work.. called RM Seafood... at Mandalay Bay. I am not allowed to say too much.. but I did get to serve the judges ..and that was a bit intimidating. It is one of my favorite shows and I can relate with the bustle of the restaurant vibe that is shown there in that competition. I am not a chef myself, but it is really fun to see the race they put themselves in to get to be Top Chef! I once went through and studied a bit to become a chef.. but ended up in the front of the house where I am pretty happy.

Well, I have been sitting here since I got up 40 minutes ago and the sun is blazing hot already! I need to hit the jogging trail. Its 9:47 am and already 90 degrees! So off to the gym for me! Speak to you all soon. Love you all and looking forward to hearing from you!
